Introduction – Wall Magazine is a magazine run at time interval on the noticeboard in a institution specially an education institution. Where students andother members of the institution can post their articles, poems, pictures andother such creation to share with each other. They can be in the form ofcollege conveying messages. It is abeautiful medium of expression for students, as students can display theirartistic works, any umpteen of interesting and informative news stories oranything to share their fellow students in the wall magazine. “Darpan or Ainna“wall magazine enables us to include not only the non-scholastic aspect of thecurrent curriculum but also what it gives on the development of the learners.Govt. Vedram College Malkharoda has made an effort on the development of allpossible non- scholastic aspects. As a result of which year wise wall magazineof “Darpan or Aaina” is produced.
“Mirror or Aaina”
This magazine ,as a windows to the students was started in the academics session 2021-22, we provide a board in form of wall magazine and students participation increased not only in general knowledge but also in literature and other essential facts, they collected articles from various branches and filled the board. Soon it converted to a well magazine named ‘Aaina’.
Context: The field of higher education is of immense help to the students seeking higher studies and knowledge of higher values. Again most of them are in their adolescence and early youth age. May be the higher education can place them in a good stead of mind especially in the field of higher teaching and professional fields. The practice of writing and collecting facts for wall magazine improves the knowledge of the students and at the same time strengthen their competitive skills. They draw, they write, collect facts and get motivated. Also read and enjoy their own creations in this Board as we face our mirror daily.
Practice:
It provides platforms for the young students beyond their cell phone. They take interest in reading news paper and collect good news and articles. It is the first step of imitation which may leads to originality. The other side is open for all who just copy paste interesting news, motivational ideas related to day to day life. It is like a windows of knowledge for the students living in this back word and under developed area.
Evidence: When this practice of wall magazine started, the students of all departments show greater enthusiasm in various types of activities associated to the wall magazine. Hence we provide a register to note down the experience of the participates and others.
Problems encountered/ Resources required: when this very practice was initiated in the College the students turn out were minimal and there was less interest in the students. But after 3 months and spread of awareness of any such activity in their institution now more and more students have come to know its importance. Primarily a fixed wall was a became a problem, but now we have prepared a Board to be attached in the wall with sufficient exposure. As such there is no huge problem in its practice but while all the classes are functioning a separate place or time is hard to be floored for conducting this practice. Therefore many a time it is decided to be conducted on Sunday or any holiday. Often the students also provide valuable suggestions for better sources and functioning of this magazine.
